Anyigba, Kogi State — In a shocking and dramatic twist that has sent waves through Kogi State University (KSU), Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education, has died under mysterious circumstances after reportedly checking into a hotel with a 200-level female student.

The late Dr. Ibikunle, widely known among students for his strict academic standards, was found lifeless in a hotel room just days after arriving with a young woman believed to be a student in the Social Studies Education department.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary police reports, the lecturer had consumed multiple energy drinks before the alleged intimate encounter. While the first round reportedly went smoothly, tragedy struck before the second could begin, leaving the respected lecturer unresponsive.

The female student involved, identified as a native of the Ebira ethnic group, is currently in police custody. She allegedly told authorities that she had no idea what led to his sudden death. Investigators, however, are not ruling out foul play and have launched a full investigation, including toxicology tests, to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, social media has erupted with mixed reactions from KSU students. While some are expressing shock and disbelief, others have taken to posting memes and messages that hint at longstanding tensions with the lecturer’s tough grading style.

As the university community awaits official statements from both the school and law enforcement, the mysterious circumstances surrounding Dr. Ibikunle’s final moments continue to raise more questions than answers.
