Breaking News: INEC Declares Anambra Election Inconclusive, To Continue Tuesday
Though the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and its candidate, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, had swept 20 0f 21 local government areas in last Saturday’s Anambra State governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, early Monday morning, suspended the declaration of a winner.
Rather, it announced that a supplementary election shall be held in the Ihiala Local Government Area where the exercise was cancelled due to alleged irregularities and serious security concerns.
The Returning Officer for the state in the election, Professor Florence Obi, also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, therefore, announced Tuesday, November 9, 2021, for re-run election in all 326 polling units in Ihiala Local Government Area of the State.
