APC YOUTH GROUP BLASTS PDP OVER COMMENTS ON OLAWEPO-HASHIM’S VISIT TO KWARA

All Progressive Congress, APC Youth group under the aegis of Coalition of APC Young Stakeholders (CYAS) has lashed back at their People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s counterpart for attacking the recent statement made by Mr. Olawepo-Hashim during his recent visit to Ilorin.
The former Presidential Candidate and Chieftain of the APC had during a courtesy visit to the Kwara state governor, Mallam Abdulraham Abdurazaq on Monday advised the governor to continue to focus on people-oriented governance. He also enjoined political stakeholders in State to close ranks so that the gains of the 2019 elections will not be frittered away and consequently drag the people back into socio-political slavery.
The Youth Forum of the PDP in the State however countered Olawepo-Hashim claims and accused him of supporting Governor Abdulrazaq for personal benefits.
But the CYAS in a statement by the group coordinator, Alhaji Rasheed Awobimpe berated the PDP for a poor attempt to distort the facts about the visit and rewrite history on Olawepo-Hashim.
The group maintained that there is no basis of comparison between the lives of the “PDP youth pay masters” and that of Olawepo-Hashim who is a progressive politician, a successful business man, a pro-democracy activist and a humanist.
Awobimpe also re-emphasized the group’s alignment with Olawepo-Hashim statement before the governor that never again should Kwara and Kwarans go back into slavery and that “affliction shall not arise for Kwara the second time”
According to the CYAS, “Olawepo-Hashim is part of those who laid the foundation for Kwara’s liberation and his support for Governor Abdulrazaq is only natural, owing to the starling performance of the current administration in just two years compared to the decades of slavery of the ugly past.”
The group averred that Governor Abdulrazaq achievements become easily noticeable when the former “slave drivers and their supporters” are now benchmarking his two years with their own 16 years of rot and decay.
“The truth was evident that the current administration inherited a state with abysmal records on all fronts. For example, people of Baruten often have to visit the neighbouring Benin Republic to access medical care.
“The General Hospital in Ilorin, the state’s premier hospital, didn’t even have water— much less drugs or basic facilities to attend to millions of people.
“The state had spent over N6bn on water without result.
” Children sit on the floor to learn in schools with thatched roofs. Retirees were not getting paid. Public facilities were sold out to cronies of the defeated dynasty at ridiculous prices.
” Everything was retrogressing. Investors stayed away. Public trust in government was at its lowest”, the group said, adding that the trajectories of Kwara state actually changed in 2019 following the revolution that enthroned Governor Abdulrazaq and shut the door against the old order.
The CYAS maintained that attempt by the supporters of the old order to confuse and poison the minds of innocent Kwarans with their “Osuwa” mantra, will continue to fail because the people have chosen not to be fooled.
“Olawepo-Hashim represents light, while their pay masters represent darkness and for the people of Kwara State, the choice is very clear. We are not confused about our choice, it is never again to slavery and we are only moving forward with Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrazaq”, the group said while thanking the APC chieftain for his support for the “youth friendly governor of Kwara State”
