MSSN Lagos Leads Drive for National Growth As It Hosts 2025 Annual Conference

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit (MSSNLagos) has expressed readiness optimize the nation’s potential for sustainable growth and development as the students’ body gears up to host its highly-anticipated 2025 Annual Conference.
According to an official statement by MSSNLagos, the Conference is scheduled to hold from Saturday, June 21 to Sunday, June 22, 2025, by 10 a.m. daily at the Oluremi Tinubu Auditorium, Lagos State University of Education, Ijanikin.
This year’s conference, themed “Optimizing the Nation’s Potential for Sustainable Growth and Development”, is poised to galvanize discussions around Nigeria’s long-term stability and prosperity amid ongoing national challenges.
To shape the conversation on the Nation’s Potential for Sustainable Growth, Prof. Funminiyi Adeleke, a renowned Professor of Public Law at Lagos State University, will deliver the keynote address, while Dr. Sulaiman Ogunmuyiwa, Lead Consultant at M-Solutions International Consulting Limited, will speak as the special guest.
Speaking ahead of the event, Amir of MSSNLagos, Kamoldeen Abiona, said the theme was carefully chosen to reflect the urgent need for a clear roadmap towards Nigeria’s sustainable future. “We are at a turning point in our nation’s history. It is imperative that youth-led conversations shape the solutions to our pressing development challenges. This conference will spotlight such dialogues,” he said.
Yusuf Okewale, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, emphasized the importance of investing in youth development and institutional reforms. “This is more than an event; it is a movement. We expect robust contributions from our speakers and participants as we navigate the link between responsible leadership and national progress,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the MSSNLagos leadership urged government at all levels to live up to their constitutional responsibility of ensuring security, peace, and prosperity for all citizens. It noted that sustainable growth cannot be achieved in an atmosphere of fear and lawlessness.
While addressing national insecurity, the students’ body also commiserated with the people of Benue State over the brutal killings of over 200 innocent Nigerians, describing the act as a “deep scar on the conscience of the nation.” MSSNLagos condemned the heinous attacks, especially the murder of children and women, and called on the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to act decisively.
The statement reads, “We’re very heartbroken over this incident. We send our deep condolences and we pray that God console all the bereaved families at this difficult time. Our fervent prayers are with you”
Over the years, MSSNLagos has a long-standing reputation for fortifying the grassroots by building capacity of youth for Nation building.

Against this background, MSSNLagos is prepared to utilize the Conference to further enhance the capacity of its workers at the grassroots which are primarily the local communities including our central branches, secondary school branches and higher institution branches.
The Annual Conference is expected to attract youth leaders, policymakers, academics, and professionals who are passionate about nation-building and sustainable transformation in Nigeria.
